Welcome to HANDICAP FAM!
Our journey took an unexpected turn just two years into marriage when Jacob was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA)—a rare disease that transitioned him from scoring touchdowns to relying on a wheelchair in his thirties. [Read Jacob’s Story Here]
Navigating family life with a disability comes with unique challenges. At times, we’ve felt isolated, unable to fully relate to those without similar experiences. But we know we are NOT alone!
Did you know that 1 in 6 people worldwide experience a significant disability? Yet, it’s still easy to feel unseen. That’s why we started HANDICAP FAM—to foster connection, raise awareness, and find meaning in the journey.
